Beautiful World Of Necklaces

Necklaces can be classified based on certain factors. Most markets sell these items based on the length of the chain. The necklaces with a small circumference of 40 centimetres are known as chokers and are placed very near to the neckline. Similarly, based on different lengths, necklaces are named as princess, opera, matinee necklace and so on. Lariat is a special type of necklace, which has multiple wraps, and is sold in several design patterns. These necklaces are extremely popular among women as it can be configured the way they want to wear it.

Alternately, necklaces are also classified based on the type of diamond. Among western countries that follow Christianity predominantly, there is a trend of wearing cross necklaces. These jewelry items have a Christian cross that is generally made of a metal. The most popular of all fashion necklaces is of course one with a diamond pendant. Over centuries, this jewelry article has been considered as one of the greatest expression of love, which is why its cost and the demand are always high. The size of the diamond determines the price of the necklace, and in most cases, this is affordable only to affluent families due to the high cost.

Another beautiful pendant that has gained a lot of popularity in the last few decades is the pearl adornment. Pearls are probably the most favourite fashion item after diamonds that is popular among women. Apart from the colour of the beads, the uniformity of all the pearls play a major role in determining the price of this necklace. The expensive pearl necklaces have equally sized beads all though the necklace.

There are several other interesting pendants that women love wearing, such as the shark tooth necklace and the riviere necklace that consists of gems of equal sizes.

Kaftan Dresses Customs

The classic kaftan typically has open, billowing sleeves and a high collar, though modern variations may have v-neck collars or other cuts. Some traditional versions have tighter, narrower sleeves, although this varies from region to region. Buttons or ties are found on the front of the garment from the neck to the waist, except on pull-over designs. A sash or a tunic is worn along the waist to give some shape to the otherwise freely-flowing tunic. The traditional design reaches down to the ankles, though modern versions may be shorter, and kaftan-inspired tunics are sometimes worn as shirts or blouses. A sweater, cloak or loose outer-jacket completes the traditional kaftan.

Perhaps the greatest virtue of the garment is its adaptability to different weather conditions. Loose kaftans made of lighter materials are perfect for hot climates, while heavier versions are appropriate for cooler conditions. The kaftan is loose enough to be worn over undergarments and flexible enough to be worn under heavy outerwear. It can be held close to the body at the waist or loosened for coolness; the buttons or ties can be kept buttoned to different heights based on temperature. The kaftan was and remains a kind of all-purpose, everyday garment for year-round wear in its countries of origin.

The kaftan’s traditional homeland stretches from North Africa to Central Asia, though it is generally believed to have originated in the Mesopotamian region, in or around present-day Iraq. Kaftan, therefore, is also considered as a form of women’s Islamic Clothing. In its original cultural context, the kaftan is either a unisex outfit or primarily a man’s item. The word “kaftan” itself is derived from the Persian language. Depending on the cultural context, kaftans may have been plain, homespun garments or ornate robes with impressive patterns and decorations. In certain kaftan-wearing cultures, decorative elements and accessories were used to indicate the wearer’s rank or status. Materials range from plain cotton to silk and beyond; in Morrocco, for example, women’s kaftans often appear with intricate lace decorations.

Kaftan dresses and garments can also be found outside of these regions. In parts of west Africa a kaftan-like pullover is common, and some southeast Asian cultures utilize a similar garment in batik fabric. The word itself also made its way into the Russian language, in which it refers to an old type of man’s suit rather than a loose tunic.

The kaftan made its way into the fashions of Europe and North America in the 1960s amid a growing general interest in Middle Eastern cultures. In the United States, the hippy subculture adopted the kaftan, and the dashiki, based on West African kaftan-style garments, gained popularity in the African-American community. Today, the kaftan dress has become a staple of women’s Islamic fashion, either in its original form or through kaftan-inspired designs.

The kaftan’s status as a versatile, all-purpose garment ensured its adoption by contemporary fashion. It can be worn long or short, tied or loose, and can be cut or worn to flatter any body-type. Kaftan-style garments are adaptable to any situation or lifestyle. Designers have produced tops in a kaftan style with billowing sleeves and v-necks for everyday wear. Full-length kaftans can be used as cover-ups for the beach or pool. Wearers are free to accessorize their kaftan dresses along traditional lines, for example with a sash, belt or outer-coat, or they may adapt it for their current wardrobe. The kaftan’s presence in diverse cultures across a wide geographic area is a testament to its versatility and usefulness.

Find A Nice Pair Of Jeans

It is important that you match the style of jeans to the occasion during which you are planning to wear them. It is also important that you feel comfortable in your jeans, because the more comfortable you feel the more confident you will feel, and confidence is attractive. Therefore, a pair of jeans that you are comfortable in wearing will make you more attractive. Knowing that you need to find a comfortable pair of jeans is a great help in choosing the right pair for you. Our first major piece of advice, therefore, is to be sure you are comfortable in the jeans.

You will also need to match the jeans to the occasion. In general, the straighter legged version are more suitable for formal and semiformal occasions, although they work in casual settings too. When wearing jeans in formal and semiformal settings you need to wear darker colours.

Classic Cuts Never Go Out of Fashion

One-way to always stay on trend when you are buying jeans is to opt for the classic cuts, such as those in the men’s Levis jeans collections. These styles are timeless; they never go out of fashion. This is the reason why men’s Levis jeans are so popular, and the reason that they have remained so for the greater part of a century. You can never go wrong with a classic cut. Furthermore, they are the most suitable of styles for wearing during formal and semiformal occasions – they also look great in a casual setting. The classic cuts are the best styles of jeans and they are the all-rounder. These should be your default style – especially if you feel that you are lacking in the fashion stakes. You cannot go wrong with this style.

Darker Denims

We advise that, whenever possible, you opt for the darker pair of denim jeans. Light colours tend to come in and out of fashion (and they never stay in long), whereas darker jeans are, again, timeless. Darker denims are suitable for formal and semiformal occasions; you can even wear them to work (as long as your office does not have a strict dress code) and still look smart.

About Stretch in Knit Fabrics

Sewing with knit fabrics has been deemed as a scary process by many. Knits are sometimes unpredictable. If incorrect thread tension is used, the fabric puckers. If the wrong needle is used, tears occur in the fibers.

While these problems are common when working with knit fabrics, there are many ways to avoid them and sew a beautiful garment. Most of these problems occur because not much is known about the stretch in the knits, how the fibers are weaved together, and what type of thread, needle, or tension level should be used. To avoid some of the common pitfalls of working with knit fabrics, you should learn about the stretch in the fabric first. Before starting a project, first take a sample piece of the fabric and try out different stitches, thread tension levels, and sewing pace and see how the fabric reacts. Here are some important things to remember about certain stretch knits and how to work with them.

There are basically four different types of stretch in knits: Firm, Moderate, Two-way, and Super.

Firm Stretch

The least stretchy of all the fabrics, firm stretch knits have up to about 20% stretch across the grain. By rule of thumb, they are the easiest to work with because there is so little stretch. Most fabrics have a medium to heavy-weight and include double knit, sweatshirt knit, and boiled wool.

Double Knit: Double knits are made of tiny knitted and ribbed fibers that look the same on either side of the fabric. The ribbing and heavy-weight quality makes it a bit thicker, so ribbed knit fabrics perfect for skirts, dresses, jackets, and coats.

Sweatshirt Knit: Also called sweatshirt fleece, sweatshirt knits should not be confused with cotton fleece, which is stretchier. Sweatshirt knit is made of smooth, vertical ribbing on the right side and a soft fluffy surface on the wrong side. It is extremely easy to work with and perfect for cool-weather sportswear, jackets, and, of course, sweatshirts.

Boiled Wool: Mechanically knitted and washed for shrinkage, boiled wool is very soft and often used for scarves, hats, jackets, and other cold weather garments. Boiled wool is most commonly seen in dress fabric as well.

Moderate Stretch

Moderate stretch knit fabrics are the most common knits and it is probably what you picture when you think of knit fabrics. An example of moderate stretch is fabric used to make t-shirts. Moderate stretch fabrics are made with single knit fabric, resulting in a comfortable, light to medium weight fabric that stretches from 25% to 50% across the grain. Moderate stretch includes cotton jersey knit, tricot, double-napped cotton fleece, interlocking knits, velour and stretch velvet.

Single Knit or Cotton Jersey: Lightweight cotton jersey knits are most commonly seen in t-shirts and tops. The ribbed knits appear vertical on the front side and horizontal on the wrong side. These knits are easy to work with and are commonly used for casual wear, such as tops, dresses, skirts, elastic-waist pants, shorts, and pajamas. Some knits are so soft that they are used in infant clothing.

Tricot: These extremely thin knit do not unravel, making them great for underwear and lingerie. Unlike single knits, tricot knit is a warp knit, which means that the ribbing on the front and back are parallel instead of perpendicular.

Double-Napped Cotton Fleece: The double napping of this versatile fabric makes it soft on both sides and thick enough for winter wear. The fabric makes warm pajamas, sportswear, blankets, scarves, hats, gloves, sweatshirts, dresses, jackets, and vests.

Interlocking Knits: These lightweight knits drape beautifully and can be sewn into dresses, tops, pants, shorts, skirts, socks, hats, gloves, and pajas, as well as baby clothes and diapers. While it doesn’t curl along the edges, the finely knitted ribs on both sides can unravel and require extra attention of runs on the cross grain.

Velour and Stretch Velvet: Both knits come in a variety of weights and have a soft brushed nap on the right side. With a moderate stretch, they can be sewn into dressier garments, skirts and dresses.

Two-Way Stretch

These stretchy knits are best turned to when you plan to make a swimsuit, leotard, or form-fitting garment. Usually stretch percentage goes from 50 to 75% in a two-way stretch fabric in both lengthwise and crosswise directions.

Sweater Knits: Sweater knits are available in a variety of weights, textures, fibers, and stretch percentage. Sweater knits are great for making winter wear, like pull-overs, cardigans, vests, dresses, ponchos, tunics, undergarments, and even accessories.

Cotton Lycra: One of the most popular types of two-way stretch fabric is Lycra. Lycra is the brand name for the synthetic fiber spandex invented by DuPont in 1958 and refers to fabrics that have synthetic fibers interwoven into fabrics to provided added stretch and flexibility. The more Lycra percentage in a fabric content, the stretchier the fabric will be. This synthetic material revolutionized the sewing and fashion industry because, while stretchier than most fabrics, it also has great recovery, allowing clothes to retain their shape.

Four-Way Super Stretch

Four-way stretch fabrics are one of the more trickier fabrics for sewing because it can stretch 100% in any direction. Swimsuits and sportswear are some of the most common examples of four-way stretch fabrics. Other types included rib knit, swimsuit knit, and action knit.

Rib knit: Made with any type of fiber, rib knits to do not always incorporate or depend on synthetic materials to achieve stretch. The stretch is created by the way the fibers are knitted. The stretch is 100% on the crosswise grain, creating a versatile finishing fabric for necklines, waistbands, cuffs, arholes, and hemlines. The edges of rib knits do not curl so these fabrics are highly favored for use on edges of garments.

Swimsuit: Swimsuit knits are usually made of a nylon-spandex blend, but the stretch will vary depending on the percentage of spandex integrated with the nylon. This fabric has more stretch on the lengthwise grain.

Action knit: These knits are somewhat similar to cotton Lycra, providing more give and stretch. They are typically used as to make sports apparel, such as biker shorts, running pants, sports bras, and workout tops. Action knits are a blend of nylon, cotton, polyester with spandex or latex added for flexibility. Most sports brands like Nike, Adidas, and Reebok have developed their own versions of action knit to be used in their apparel.

Custom Necklace Design

There are various necklace designs. The most popular necklace designs come in different kinds of metals, like gold, silver, and titanium. Other than these, necklaces are also made with many other precious and semi-precious metals. If you want to buy a custom-made necklace, you have to keep different factors in mind. Here are some tips to help you select the best necklace designs.

A custom made gold design can be anything from casual to classy and sober as well as sophisticated. Women, who go for classical style, can opt for different kinds of pearls, which will never go out of fashion. You can make necklaces out of diamond settings or any other gemstones of your choice. You can also make necklace designs out of beads and crystals. However, the most important thing in purchasing a custom designed necklace is that you have to find an able and qualified custom design jeweler. You must examine whether he can perform the work with the proper mastery and skill to meet your needs. A key factor when making this assessment is whether the artisan or jeweler knows CAD (Computer Aided Design).

The best quality custom design necklaces are made with the help of CAD designs. Through CAD designs, the jewelers can easily view and/or create the numerous necklaces for you as well as ensure that it meets the precise requirements and specifications put forth.

If you do not want to go from one store to another in search of the kind of jewelry you are looking for, the best option for you is the online custom jewelry store. There are different kinds of online stores, each of which can provide you with original custom designs. They have a wide range of collections from which you can easily make your choice. By utilizing an online custom jewelry store, you will be able to visit a store anywhere in the world without leaving the comfort of your home.

Necklace Racks

The stand is referred to as an umbrella stand because it has three to five curved bars that extend from the stand itself – each bar able to hold a necklace or bracelet. Most people place this type of holder on a desk or a flat surface because it has flat bases for feet.

On the other hand, the display boards are made of plastic or cardboard sheets with grooves cut along its top to contain the necklace. A popular board design is the shape of a face that holds your favorite necklaces for quick access. It can stand on a flat surface with a folded base. For the large jewelry or necklace collector, the necklace rack is the number one choice. It can be wall mounted or can be hung on jewelry cabinets.

Once you find some of your favorite necklace holders online and see one you may wish to purchase, check out different online merchants so you can be guaranteed the highest quality at the lowest price. There are so many to pick from that it will be difficult to choose a favorite – they will all be your favorites. Depending on the type you purchase, they can have assorted heights and grooves to hang a few of your favorite necklaces or bracelets.

Most of the jewelry racks are made to sit on desks, mounted directly on walls, or placed on counters for display. They can be designed in wood, cardboard, decorated metal or plastic frames. Some ideas are the chrome jewelry tree; a jewelry hand display for rings, bracelets, and necklaces; a twig tree jewelry and photo holder; an antique bronze jewelry tree; or even a storage rack/display stand for long necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

The necklace display rack or necklace wall rack are works of art that can be placed inside glass holders or acrylic cases for show. When you begin looking them over at some of the best online shopping stores, look for some of the tiered racks that build as you go.

Whether you are an avid collector with several necklaces or just beginning with a few, there will always be something available for you. Necklace boards are excellent choices for children or those with only one or two necklaces.

If you have many necklaces, it is a good idea to stay with neutral colors and designs, as compared to the vivid colors and patterns of many of the holders.

Solid Gold Necklace

Prolific through Asia, and accepted as a means of currency globally, 24k gold jewelry is more than just an object of adornment, it is a means transporting or even accumulating wealth. Wealth in jewelry comes with benefits other methods do not.

Whatever country you find yourself in, a solid gold necklace can be used to make purchases. Just taking links off the 24k necklace or gold bracelet for payment, and with a universal rate for gold, there is no confusion. The price of pure gold jewelry is not governed by each country, it has a global value.

24 karat gold jewelry is highly portable between countries. There isn’t the worry that your wealth may go missing if your luggage is mislaid. What better way to transport a 24k gold chain than around your neck where you can’t lose it.

One country that is no stranger to using a 24k gold baht necklace for payment is Thailand. Their currency is the Baht and they use baht gold jewelry for transaction payments. A baht necklace is a familiar sight and a popular form of wealth.

Something you need to make sure of when buying a solid gold necklace is that it is 99.99% solid gold. If it has anything less then it will only be considered as an object of beauty and not an item of wealth. Make sure you go to a reputable dealer when purchasing 24k gold necklaces.

Solid gold jewelry is not affected by the global economic recession. The price of gold is set by the markets and no country has the power to influence the price unduly for long, unlike the money and stock markets.

When once it was fashionable to store wealth in gold bullion and coins, it is not seen wise to do so for portable wealth because it is cumbersome to transport and there is a possibility that gold bullion could be recalled or confiscated at a border.

Glow Stick Necklaces

The technology behind them has also improved. Glow stick necklaces should now last up to 12 hours (there is some variation according to colour – some colours such as green tend to be more efficient at emitting light from the chemical reaction inside). They are particularly popular with children, for obvious reason, but adults find them attractive too.

Most people will immediately think of entertainment when it comes to glow stick necklaces – bonfire night, concerts in the dark and other events. And yet, their origins were very different, and they have many other applications. They came out of the famous Bell Laboratories; founded by the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, the labs were formally associated with American telephone company AT&T, but more or less gave its inventors free rein to develop new ideas and technologies as they wished. The transistor, the laser and important programming languages such as C have all been amongst Bell’s outputs.

Bell’s developments in chemiluminescence – the production of light by chemical means – was quickly taken up. The earliest patent for a luminous device (the earliest forerunner of glow stick necklaces and other products) was filed in 1965. The mid-1970s saw further inventions which started to look more and more like modern glow sticks, including one that used the characteristic sealed glass vial within a plastic tube – meaning that when the glass was broken the chemicals within would mix with those outside, starting the vital chemical reaction. This device was intended, amongst other things, to be a replacement for the roadside flare. It included a stand that meant it could be thrown from a vehicle and would remain upright and at its most visible. As a flame-less technology, it was far safer than traditional flares.

Most of these inventions were associated with the US military. Further refinements took place over the next few years. One of these was a steel ball within the tube, which helped to break and mix the contents of the glass ampoule when the plastic tube was shaken. However, by the end of the 1970s the technology was essentially complete and the results were very similar to the modern glow stick. Necklaces, bracelets and other accessories would quickly follow as it was realised that there was a market far wider than the military and emergency services.

Recreation turned out to be the biggest market for chemiluminescent devices. They are still widely used by the military and in other ‘serious’ applications – such as lighting devices for divers (a sealed, flame-less light is very useful underwater). Similarly, if there is any danger of gaseous explosion then a traditional light using an incandescent filament is not safe, whether battery or mains powered. Thus glow sticks are often used after disasters as they are completely safe. They will also keep for months or even years before they are needed, and there is no danger of corrosion, as with batteries.

A Fragile Grace

Fashion seems to be the most important aspect in a women’s life. It is something that the females can do much better than men. It enhances the life and when the end results are good it gives pleasure. The concept of fashion cannot be same for the entire Diaspora of society. However fashion cannot be treated in singular terms, it is a collection of bits and bobs which are in vogue.

In my point of view fashion has a widespread diversity in it. Two people with opposing ideas can still be fashionable in their own ways. Fashion has many layers to it and with the increasing awareness about fashion many people have started indulging in it. Those who detest fashion may be the ones who need fashionable clothes in order to improve their looks. The fact is that when women do not like their appearance they criticize fashion but the dissatisfaction of women about their appearance is what fuels the fashion industry.

There are three basic rules in order to dress well which are:

1) Be comfortable in whatever you wear as that is what adds beauty automatically
2) Do not go overboard for dressing up as that may just be a fashion glitz
3) Follow the latest trends by keeping an eye on what celebrities wear

If you follow these three fundamental rules then you can be sure that you will definitely land up being well dressed wherever you go.
